MATCH PREVIEW | Wigan next up for Reserves
Leeds Rhinos Reserves look for their first win of the season as Chev Walker's side head on the road this Saturday to take on Wigan Warriors at Robin Park Arena (kick off 12pm) in a stern test.
The Rhinos got their campaign underway last weekend as they were made to share the league points with Wakefield Trinity. An 18-all stalemate saw Leeds come back from 18-4 down at half time, thanks to tries from Ben Littlewood and Ned McCormack and a penalty goal from Harley Thomas, but a resistant Trinity side managed to keep the home side from finding a winner.
Looking to put a particularly disappointing first half behind them, the Rhinos head to Robin Park, trying to rediscover the form that saw them score 60 points against the Warriors in 2025 on their way to lifting the Reserves trophy. There's extra ownness on the Rhinos to get a result too, as a change in the Reserves competition's format in 2026 means that Leeds need to pick up points to make sure they're in the top six for the second half of the season.
Wigan's opening Reserves game against Hull FC was cancelled last weekend due to adverse weather conditions, so this Saturday's game will see the Warriors look to get their campaign underway on a positive note.
Previous form against Leeds in the Reserves favours John Duffy's side, who games in 2022, 2023 and 2024 against the Rhinos (including a 44-24 result last time out at Robin Park Arena). The Warriors then face Bradford and Huddersfield before a clash with St Helens at the start of April, as they look to make sure they're in the top six before the season split.
